Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

This style of Massage Therapy incorporates slower, deeper pressure to help you unwind and loosen tight muscles. This treatment engages the muscles at a much deeper level and aids in relieving persistent areas of tension. As with any massage, I will check in with you to ensure the level of pressure is comfortable and enjoyable  for you.

Swedish Massage Therapy

Traditional massage style used to increase circulation and promote relaxation to the entire body. In this style of massage,  the focus is using soothing, rhythmic strokes at a light to moderate pressure to ease body tension and calm the mind.   A simple yet effective way to relieve stress and unwind after a busy day.

Sports Massage Therapy

This style of treatment varies in its approach, depending on what your goal for treatment is. Sports massage therapy is used to promote optimal athletic performance pre or post event. This treatment uses a variety of different techniques to best prepare you for an athletic event or to recover and rehabilitate acute or chronic injuries.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are tight areas of tension within muscles that can refer pain to other areas of the body. A good example of this is a headache caused by tightness in the upper neck and shoulders. Trigger point therapy is a  very targeted approach to release chronic muscle knots and referred muscular pain.  This is a technique I incorporate into most of my treatment and is especially useful in treating chronic muscle pain and headaches.

Pregnancy Massage /

Postnatal Care

Massage that is uniquely tailored to meet your individual needs in various stages of your pregnancy. The focus in pregnancy massage is to relieve areas of tension as your body adjusts to the many new changes that pregnancy brings.  Following pregnancy, and once it is safe for you to do so, postnatal massage can be used as a tool to help your body ease back into its natural, and comfortable alignment. The intention with postnatal care is to support you as you recover from childbirth and adjust to your new life.

CUPPING

Cupping is a technique that can be applied during a massage to create lift and pull on the body’s tissues through the use of negative pressure within cups that are placed on the skin. This technique counteracts the push pressure used in massage and is a fantastic way to add another dynamic into your treatment. With roots in traditional Chinese medicine cupping has been used for hundreds of years to treat a variety of conditions. In the context of a massage therapy treatment it is used to decrease pain, increase blood flow to that area, improve lymphatic movement/drainage, increase mobility and improve range of motion.
